For the last two years the Priest in our ward have hosted a dinner
for their mom's the week of mother's day.
It is so sweet to have these boys plan and prepare a meal that they
serve us and then end it off with a sweet speech for each mom.
This year the menu was more of a Hawaiian theme.
They were going to be serving "Hay Stacks", water melon, salad and rolls.
Justin was in charge of the rolls.
As my sweet friend Jenn put it
"Justin is an over achiever, he is not happy with doing things to just get by".
In this case she was spot on.
Each time I suggested to Justin that he just go buy some Kings Hawaiian rolls
and call it a day he would not budge, he wanted to make my friend
Danielle's family recipe; to die for orange rolls.
I think he LOVED getting googy and gross, doesn't every boy?
The half way point :):)
After he rolled out the dough, slathered it with yummy orange zest, sugar and butter
he rolled them out perfectly, cut them and placed them in the pan.
Justin was determined to spend what ever time in the
kitchen it took, all four hours of it!!!!
All that time was worth it though, these were fantastic!!!
Thank you Danielle for sharing your recipe!!!!
